David Vargas is an award-winning Art Director and Expedition Photographer who brings stories of culture, nature, and human connection to life. He has led shoots in more than 40 countries, from remote islands to polar landscapes, navigating extreme environments with creativity and adaptability.

During two decades with National Geographic × Lindblad Expeditions, David helped shape the brand’s photographic identity. His work has been published more than 500 times, including multiple National Geographic Expeditions covers, and spans wildlife, culture, and authentic guest experiences.

As an Art Director and designer, he develops integrated campaigns that unify photography and design across print, digital, and social platforms. A Platinum Adrian Award recipient, he is recognized for art direction that merges design, storytelling, and imagery to strengthen brand identity and inspire audiences.
